Commenting Etiquette

Be cool. That's all we ask. The writers and editors put a lot of time into bringing you these articles, so show some respect. It's ok to be critical, but please be civil about it. Don't embarrass yourself in front of everyone by making juvenile remarks because you may regret it later. If you have issue with someone, "Get a room." Set Picture is so much better on those Garchomps. That is all :)

    • Anonymous

You mean as opposed to the tin picture? I totally agree : D. Even Carver agrees–he hates his tinchomps :P

i liked it, i always enjoy this kind of stuff, i think it helps you grow and learn as a player.

So what are you gonna do next format with only 10% of your playable cards?

    • Anonymous

I still have cards for sablock, Luxchomp (one luxray didn’t sell), vilegar, machamp, gyarados, and a few others. I just don’t have cards to have more than one deck built at once now. Next format I should still have plenty to work with, and I’m getting a box of Triumphant for my birthday. I’ll be just fine : )

    Really enjoyed the video.

In the future I’d also like to see live action videos, if possible. Just record and then upload it to YouTube, maybe with some annotations or something?

    Good stuff man.

I made this comment on the YouTube page for the third one, but I absolutely love seeing live action games and wish it were something that Pokemon would pursue for major events. I would love to see anything Nats or higher with the top cuts posted. I wouldn’t really lobby to see other tournaments, though, because while I appreciate transparency in deck building I understand that for some players it’s important to not let opponents see exactly what they’re running in order to maintain that edge.

@JWittz: What was your camera setup for the match? I thought the 3/4 perspective was pretty good, though the glare was annoying. I’d love to find a way to suspend a camera from the ceiling for games I played.

    • Anonymous

we just screwed my flip video into a standard tripod standing over the game and angled it downward. This is only the second time we’ve ever done this before, and I’ll definitely look to see if glare is a potential issue in the future

Man I would’ve scooped that game as soon as that Chatot G hit the table, no reason that game should have dragged on for 30min in that matchup. Also nice to see you join the all foil SP deck club Josh.

    • Anonymous

This one actually wasn’t all foil (it is now though : P). I built it at 11:00 pm the night before the tournament, so I didn’t make all the swaps from my all-reverse luxchomp yet. I’ll see you at cities at the top tables : )

Sick playmat!!! Where’d you get it?

    • Anonymous

I got it printed from an old Yugioh contact who prints mats. I designed it in photoshop

      • Anonymous

By any change is him twobluechopstix? Because he also makes awesome mats……..

  • Anonymous

Some of the j-wittz stuff I enjoyed the most. Really like to watch matches.

That playmat is so freaking awesome, does your friend accept requests?
Also, do you play 1 or 2 Q in your Sabelock? I was thinking about 2 since Smeargle and Sableye seem to be pretty abusable cards now, and also in case I ever start with Azelf/One Q is prized.

    • Anonymous

He just prints mats, you have to get them designed or design them yourself. I just stick to 1 unown Q–I could never get myself to run 2 because Q starts are the devil

      • Anonymous

Yeah, that’s probably the smarter option. I really wanna run Sablelock for cities, but with so much Machamp and Gyrados in my area sprouting up, I don’t think it’s the right move. If I do, I’ll be sure to tech in BDH instead of Blaziken FB X.

Does he have a website or anything, or just a friend doing you a favor?

      • Anonymous

He goes by Posineg on the Pojo forums–shoot him a pm and he’ll give you his prices and info

        thanks josh

  • Walrus

Videos were awesome…just one thing; why…why must everyone use their double colorless to tap their opponents pokemon that they are Dragon rushing?? just say who you’re hitting

    • http://www.facebook.com/apenandamuse Evan Baker

Seriously, when did that start? Haha it’s got to be one of the most ridiculous trends in Pokemon

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Martin-Garcia/676689170 Martin Garcia

Its convenient, and gives a nice feeling i think xD
Now that you mention it, i dont remember when i started doing that either.

      • Walrus

How is it convenient to stretch your arm across the table and annoyingly tap someone else’s cards?

My general rule is; if it’s not your stuff (dice, cards, etc.) don’t touch without permission…unless it’s something like a simple cut.

      • Anonymous

I don’t think I ever physically “tap” the cards unless it’s somebody I know really well. Actually, I’m positive I don’t. I think me and Carver do it here because we’ve just been playtesting it that way.

For people who have the compulsive motion and can’t control it anymore–just point your cards in the direction of the guy you want to dragon rush, but never touch the cards themselves

I’m not gonna lie, I absolutely Love watching matches like this. Especially against the best players. I wish they all did something as good as this, J-Wittz. Can’t wait to see more later on!

  • Anonymous

This is the kind of material that is excellent for anyone playing the game, especially beginners. You can write all day about strategies and how to play, but being able to see everything in person, along with commentary, is that much better.

I understand the confidentiality some people hold about their decklists at tournaments, but they should do something like this on a big screen at States, Regionals, and Nationals. I’m sure many more people would stay for the whole tournament if they could watch the final match played out for all to see.

  • Anonymous

The live action really lets you know how a deck works…No one in my area really plays Chenlock or any other form of it, so these videos are very informative. People can explain a strategy over a forum, but live action lets us see dynamic strategy for match-ups and the like. Keep up the quality stuff!

Your so awesome. Keep making awesome videos!
