This is my first big tournament aside from an Undaunted prerelease, and I think it went pretty well. I played my own list of FlyPhan. I only played three matches because there was so few player in the Masters division. There were only about 8 players or so, but, that didn’t matter.
I’ll start off with my list:

Now, on to the report.
Match 1 – Speedy Donphan
I started my day playing against the Norwegian Champion, Benjamin B. He played a speedy Donphan deck, which surprised me. I started with one Trapinch and one Phanpy, thinking of knocking his Phanpy out fast. Turn 1 I hit him for 20 damage, and he returned 20 damage back because of Phanpy’s attack. Then, on turn 3, I evolved into Vibrava, but failed on the flips, and didn’t donk him.
After that we continued mirror, Donphan vs. Donphan, but because of his Expert Belts, he survied longer than me, and I was forced to send out Flygon. That turn, he benched his Entei Raikou Legend, and used his genius way to load both Donphan and Legend fast. Using the stadium card, Stark Mountain, combined with Regirock from Legends Awakened, he had loaded up all his Donphans through the game, but now he sent out the Entei Raikou Legend and knocked out my Uxie and Azelf for his two last prizes with Thunder Fall. He also used Manectric from Platinum to prevent damage from being done to his bench.

Match 2 – The Almighty Arceus
I played my second match against an Arceus deck. I couldn’t tell why the heck he only played Arceus, but, it was actually better that I thought. Turn 2 he used Pokemon Collector to fill up his bench, and used the colorless Arceus for Ripple Swell, which attaches 1 Energy to all of his Arceus. The game wasn’t that exciting because most of the time I used Flygon LV.X and OHKO’d most of his mighty Arceus.

Match 3 – Kingdra Variation
This game was one of the matches that scared me the most. When he said he played Kingdra, I decided to go for Flygon. Luckily, I ended up with a fully loaded and Belted Flygon LV.X pretty early in the game. I was also very lucky with the draws I got, and had a bench full of Donphans and Flygons and Nidoqueens, which was going to help me a lot. The first three prizes was easy for me, but when he got into two Spray Splashing Kingdras AND Flash Biting Crobat WITH Poke Turn, my Flygon couldn’t handle it. I sent out a Uxie, and then 3 Donphans in a row. With Spray Splashing Kingdra, he could OHKO my Donphans.
On my bench, there was a little Trapinch lying all the time, waiting for to become a Flygon, and luckily, it turned suddenly into a Flygon LV.X, using my last Rare Candy, and of course my lovely Premier Ball. I managed to KO one of the Kingdras he had, only slightly damaged by Donphan, but Flygon finished it off. Both of us only had 1 prize card left, but fortunately for me, I sniped his Floatzel GL LV.X with Extreme Attack, and pulled the last prize.

So my first Battle Road ended up surprisingly well. Despite the fact that I was the youngest player in the Masters division, I finished as second place, with Erlend B being first.
