Prof-It! Episode 32: Top Emerging Decks from Triumphant

Hey everybody, it’s J-Wittz here! It feels good to finally make a legit episode of Prof-It! again! This episode combines my set analysis video with some deck analysis I was planing, and it should be a good watch for those of you looking for new ideas with Triumphant. Enjoy!

    hey, great episode :) I think you should have mentioned VileGar too. Despite being a well established deck from undaunted, it was further improved with the addition of Gengar Prime, Seeker, Twins, Rescue Energy, and for me, Darkrai & Cresselia Legend. Gengar Prime will Lost Zone and Lv.X that has returend to the opponent’s hand via Poke-Turn, Seeker, etc. With seeker, you can heal your gengar, and if your up against an SP deck, and they pick up their lv.x like Luxray GL Lv.X to re use it, you can just drop down a Gengar Prime and Lost zone that lv.x, giving you a huge lead. Twins is great as you will be down in prizes the first few turns also. Rescue Energy is great as Gengar is a low energy attaching deck and “Poltergeist” needs 2 attach anyways. Darkrai & Cresselia Legend is my favourite tech as you can move as many damage counters on your opponent’s board in anyway you like. This combos nicely with Gengar Prime’s “cursed droplet” + “Compound Pain” Combo from the Lv.X not to mention the fact that if they have many dmged pokemon on the bench, you can easily use Darkrai & Cresselia Legend’s “Moon’s Invite” to move all their damage counters to lower HP Pokemons like Uxie, Azelf, etc for easy 2~3 knockouts for the win.

      @Peter–because Vilegar is already the deck with the 3rd most wins, it didn’t really qualify as “emerging”. You can argue that SP decks are improved by Seeker, rescue energy, and junk arm too, but they’re already established top tier decks. Vilegar will be really good come cities without a doubt–it’s just been discussed before countless times

    Surprisingly, Wailord is a boss. I lost to it at league today. It is not tier one, nor will it be next season, but a 200 hp (w/ belt) plus healing is the definition of tank.

      Heh. I run a speed wailord deck with feraligatr prime, rescue energy, pokemon rescue, BTS and scoop-ups. It runs a lot like a high energy high HP high damage gyarados.

      Yeah, I like Wailigatr even better than Blastigatr and Blastzel–initial setup of the attacker is speedier. Expert Belt also puts Wailord over the 110HP threshhold needed to OHKO SPs, so I like that idea too. Not sure about the healing idea though; I think I like the Warp/Switch-Seeker combo better.

      Nevertheless, let’s face it–deck’s still slow as a whale.

      Wailord is a card I always look at and consider when I see it– I think next format might be his time : P. With no great lightning pokemon in the format and feraligatr for speed he’s definitely got a chance : )

    Excelent, I’m planning to run a Nido deck. I think with 2 Maternal are sufficent, if one as prized and 1-2 from TP.
