Come on! Let’s not do this… Profit is the original and will never be matched! But I did like this one too. How come family guy and the simpsons can live together in peace but Pokemon commentary shows can’t? Hah

Excellent, just need some better tunes in the background.

Good stuff man! I’d use some more upbeat music like njpokedad suggested.

This was really great! I think the music was good, i’d leave it. Adam, you should get the new episode on here each time he makes one.

    • http://www.adamcapriola.com/ Adam Capriola

Yeah I think I’ll do that. With the adjustments I’m making to the site I think I’ll be able to do more than one post a day and I’ll start posting JWittz’s videos again too.

      • Anonymous

Yeah man, I thought we were friends : (. lol I’m just messing with you man. I love some of the new design you’ve got going on!

No worries, those of us that care (which I think is everyone) usually find the latest JWittz vid way before you would be posting it.

Thanks for all the comments, guys :)
I’m just trying to bring Pokemon news from the UK too.
Glad you all like and look forward to making the new episode!

Excellent job with the video. However, I believe that Sableye/Garchomp still has a decent shot in this fall’s Battle Roads.

    Very nice man.

WOW!!!! YOUR VIDS ARE WAY BETTER THEN THE JWittz vid’s. :):):):)

    By far…

      how?

he uses identical format… same content…

Nice. I just hope that Battle Roads isn’t limited to just a few decks.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jordandbaker Jordan Baker

Battle Roads will have a ton of different decks, and the most popular deck will probably change at every tournament. That is one of the coolest things about BR’s. Cities and States is when things will start to narrow down a bit.

  • Anonymous

about the deck we are playing. I am playing blazechomp for SoCal battle roads. nice video, i’m looking forward to the rest.

    PokemonDan–
I can’t help but feel you’re trying to draw from my audience. Using the tags “JWittz” and “Profit” in each of your videos seems it’s directed to take from the people who normally watch my show. Your format is noticeably similar to mine, too.

Granted, you do some things better than I do in my videos, but I don’t appreciate you trying to grab views off my name. You’ll earn viewers in due time by releasing videos over time. I’d appreciate it if you didn’t tag my name in your videos though, seeing as I’m not in them.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jordandbaker Jordan Baker

Why does it matter if he uses those tags to gain some viewers? Your videos are probably the only videos that Pokemon TCG players search for on Youtube. By using those tags it allows people to find his videos. It’s not like he’s stealing business from you. Views and subscriptions are fairly arbitrary. Neither of you are getting enough views to make much off of youtube revshare.

      • Anonymous

I get paid from stop2shop.com for the commercials in each episode. If it had a possibility of distracting the numbers that would be expected from stop2shop then that is a problem. If you put the hard work into episodes that either of us do you’d understand my frustration with somebody trying to draw off your established fan base. That’s like going into McDonald’s and asking people to go to Burger King. The money subject isn’t as big a deal as the tact issue. You’ve already claimed you like his videos better so I’m sure you’re a little biased, too.

      • http://www.facebook.com/jordandbaker Jordan Baker

In all honesty, I’m not really a fan of your videos or his. I think that you both cover information that is for the most part common sense to anyone who plays on a regular basis.

I think that a little competition will be healthy for you. To use your fast food metaphor, McDonalds and Burger King constantly compete for the same demographic. Competition forces both parties to produce a better product available at a lower price. All of that is completely irrelevant though. I still don’t see how he is taking away from your views. If you both are only putting out one video a week, I’m pretty sure that there will be enough time for people to watch both.

    • Anonymous

JWittz – My videos where not intended to take audience away from yours, the only reason I used your videos as tags in mine was so that people could access both. We have similar ideas so it makes sense that the youtube audience can see what’s available to watch. If you don’t want me tagging yours then that’s fine, but understand that I’m not interested in ‘grabbing views’ I just make videos and have fun doing them.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I’m honestly not interested in competing or who’s better.

    • http://www.adamcapriola.com/ Adam Capriola

Come on man, let’s be honest: You won’t lose any viewers over a couple tags.

I would do the exact same thing as PokemanDad did, it’s a smart marketing move. People that watch your videos would probably like his too, and there is an off chance his might show up when they search for yours. Piggybacking is a smart thing to do.

The only way you will lose viewers is if your content isn’t up to par.

Use this as motivation to produce even better videos (like you mentioned earlier). Competition is a good thing!

      • http://www.teamomar.com/ Ed

Actually, I think the tags would have a beneficial effect for both. It’s not like either is putting out enough videos to saturate the “market.” It looks like Dan took the tags off, and it saddens me. It’s too bad, but honestly, it feels to me like JWittz bullied him into taking them off. To me, there is plenty of room for both, but it seems like Josh wants us to pick sides for some reason.

    • http://www.teamomar.com/ Ed

For real? That’s how the internet works. If you think that people looking for some content would also like to find your stuff, tag your content similarly.

It goes both ways. When people are watching his videos, YouTube will recommend vids that have tags like his. That’s you, and then stop2shop gets eyes.

McDonalds vs. Burger King example is invalid. For a meal, people will pick one or the other. For YouTube vids, the longer you can keep people watching, the better. It’s not like if someone subscribes to Dan, it auto unsubscribes them from JWittz.

    • Anonymous

JWittz has the best vids. I got back in to Pokemon 4 months ago and you helped me so much thank you.

    • http://www.facebook.com/guy.sargent Guy Elias Sargent IV

yeah, I’m not gonna lie, this makes me want to watch JWittz videos even less and watch anything else that comes out. To seriously think that you invented the idea of putting out informational videos on peoples’ hobbies and own the market on it?

the fast food restaurant thing has no bearing here because people don’t choose “one or the other” on youtube videos. they’re just bored at work or school and will watch anything they can find.
If he left the tags on there you’d probably find yourself getting tons of new viewers and subscriptions from the UK where your video’s aren’t really saturated, but I kind of hope he leaves them off because your attitude drives me crazy dude.

this is dumb. we already have jwittz. and he’s tagging him? not cool, man.

    • Anonymous

didn’t you just say not to put people down? saying “this is dumb” is a direct contradiction.

      • Anonymous

no. I never put him down directly or his videos. he shouldn’t tag jwittz, period. I think that is dumb. everyone can watch whoever. don’t be ignorant.

you’re really funny. I never put him down. stating my opinion that it is wrong is not putting anyone down. why is everyone so quick to insult everyone? it’s not as bad as specifically saying anyone is worse.

      • http://www.facebook.com/jordandbaker Jordan Baker

You called pokedan’s video “dumb” and you called Ryan “ignorant”. How are those not put-downs?

      • Anonymous

no. you aren’t listening. I think it’s dumb for him to tag jwittz. let’s use a new word since every one is hung up on “dumb”. it’s wrong, tactless. and it IS ignorant to be hung up on one word I’ve said. ignorance is lacking knowledge. a put down would be to call someone stupid instead. everyone needs to suck it up and stop being so self righteous. this forum should be used to discuss pokemon. and if I’m correct, Jordan, you were the first person to say anything about the videos being BETTER than someone else’s. why not tell him his videos are good and move on with it? there’s no need to compare. if you’re not here to discuss the tcg, then don’t talk at all.

  • Anonymous

Very well written video, and good use of images as well. So we got a guy in the UK and a guy in the US spitting out great vids! Now we just a need a guy from the East with a translation at the bottom and we’d be set :D

I also don’t think these videos are going to steal audience from Jwittz or any other person, only add more quality media to a TCG game that desperately needs it. I’m still amazed that this game is growing and growing after each year…

    • Anonymous

he can make all the videos he wants. but he shouldn’t use jwittz name to do so. videos are no different than all the blogs and articles written about the game on various sites, including sixprizes. everyone can and should make videos/articles if they want to. but there’s a serious lack of tact with this dan guy.

      • http://www.facebook.com/apenandamuse Evan Baker

He’s not “using” the Jwittz name. YOUTUBE TAGS ARE NOT A PART OF THE CONTENT. They are simply aids to help people find what they’re looking for. Nothing more, nothing less.

    • Anonymous

also, it should be about the TCG not the audiences gained. that’s all that matters.

  • Anonymous

I don’t want this to become a competition, his videos are great and have inspired me to up my own quality. I just don’t want him using my name for his benefit.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jordandbaker Jordan Baker

Isn’t the benefit actually for those of us who watch the videos? The videos you guys make are a service. Like I said in my comment on your other post, neither of you are getting enough views to really “benefit” from these videos. Last I checked the youtube revshare program was at $2-$5 per thousand views. Your most popular video tops out around 6,000, but most of your videos are between 2,000 and 3,000 views. So even if you are a youtube parter you are only making between $4 and $30 per video. Obviously then this probably isn’t about money. If it’s not about money you’re basically just fame-mongering, trying to make yourself the most popular pokemon player online.

      • Anonymous

I have to disagree with you about sleexix/scizor tank. It is actually very good. I through one together last friday because I was bored to death with SP and because i love primes I built it. it’s actually really good and Im going to run it for BR

    • http://www.facebook.com/jordandbaker Jordan Baker

I agree, Scizor is definitely underrated right now.

  • http://www.facebook.com/apenandamuse Evan Baker

JWittz: You’re being ridiculous. Record labels bill bands as being “for fans of” other bands of a similar genre. They put it on a sticker and slap it right on the CD cover! TV commercials do the same thing: “if you like ‘The Office’ and ‘Parks & Rec’, you won’t want to miss ‘Community’!” Social networking sites link to each other and have ways users can connect multiple accounts on different websites. That’s how the entertainment world (of which you are now a part) works: find a target audience, market yourself to said audience.

The guy tagged your name. He didn’t steal your content. He realized you have a similar audience and wanted his vids to pop up in the related videos sidebar. What’s so wrong about that? As a public figure, you’d be wise to use a bit more tact and discretion, rather than putting your immaturity on display by using a public forum to whine. Sorry to say it, but you just lost a fan.

IMO, these PokeClass videos seems to be too “dry” to watch. After watching the three first episodes, I was really looking into the feature match thing. The video quality was a little off, you couldn’t identify all of the played cards for sure and there were a handwriten proxy. After watching the match for like 3 minutes, I felt like I wanted to scoop on watching the video. Instead of scooping right away, I skipped for like 30 seconds and watched like 5-10 second and repeated this until the video end. Using the White sleeves on a white table were also a bad move.

PokeClass has working content but the implementation has failed IMO. Riding on J-Wittz’s name is also a bad move. Usually the best way to get views is the grapevine. Now if these videos gets too much hate, hardly no-one is going to suggest people to watch it.

IMO, J-Wittz has a way more superior videos. Everything he has done in his episodes has worked out very well. He has his humorous style in his show that makes it so good. He just has the charisma that you don’t have. :/

So i was off for 1 day and when i get back i see people fighting over a tcg video on youtube.
Lets see, that summed up everything, right?
FIGHTING OVER INTERNET VIDEOS. Never thought this time would come.

@Pokemondan I should have just taken this up with you privately. I shouldn’t have judged your character without knowing you at all, I should have just voiced the uneasiness I felt with the tags and that should have been enough. Ultimately there’s no measure of getting your tags removed, and I’m not going to press you to remove them or anything. For some reason I just felt uncomfortable seeing them. I’ll be honest when jealousy plays a true factor here. Your video editing is cleaner than mine and I’ve never seen a set of pokemon card videos that were decent before. I should be honored that my show serves as inspiration for others to make their own videos. Your videos have excellent quality and I’m sorry for any bad feelings I’ve caused you out of this silliness. I wish your series the best–and if your videos remain at the quality they’re at you’ll have no problem gathering a large audience. *actually on topic* What video editing program do you use? It looked like Final Cut Pro but I wasn’t sure. I use Sony Vegas–it’s decent but I’m always looking into new options.

@Jordan I knew your name sounded familiar. You’ve been trolling on my episodes for a while now, so I really can’t take anything you say with any credit. With comments like “AWESOME MUSTACHE!!!!!!!!1111″, and “”sweet Justin Bieber haircut!!!” I can’t really take you seriously at all.

@Evan– you’re much better at wording your argument than your brother, and some of your points carry a lot of strength to them. I get what you’re saying. Sure coming onto Sixprizes and yelling was a dumb idea, and I really do regret it.

@Adam– Most of what I said was just drawn from my initial emotions. It’s like what you said about Pokebeach when they didn’t want to be a part of the chat– we all say a dumb thing on the internet based on our emotions every once in a while. If Pokebeach started including tags on their posts and used “sixprizes” as one of their tags, would you be annoyed? Granted, it’s a different scenario, but I took those initial negative feelings and I decided to post them. It seems all I’ve done is spark a big flame war and damage my own name in the process. I’m considering deleting my messages so that there’s nothing to spark more argument.

As for everybody else, I’m not really planning on commenting again on this issue. You can like me better or you can like him better or you can like us both–but constructive criticism is ultimately what either of us will benefit from best. I should have brought up my concerns with PokemonDan myself about the tags, but personally I think his videos are great.

In the end I feel bad about the way things escalated and I made a mistake in bringing my feelings public. Sorry to any fans/viewers that I’ve offended, and hopefully I can turn this whole situation on the right track.

    • http://www.teamomar.com/ Ed

A public apology is a great thing, and as a viewer I appreciate it. It’s too bad that (as you’ve mentioned) it’s the initial emotion/reaction that sticks with people.

      • http://www.facebook.com/guy.sargent Guy Elias Sargent IV

right, trying to save face while there is something left to save. Unfortunately what he’s put out there has already left me with a bad taste in my mouth and a long list of negative character traits I’m gonna associate with him from now on… But really we’ve all said something really stupid on the internet at some point in our lives so trying to extend him some grace. but let’s just say it seems like our “friendly neighborhood pokemon guy” has had his true colors come out. I truly hope it was just a fluke lack of tact as opposed to the real wittz coming through.

    • http://www.facebook.com/apenandamuse Evan Baker

      Lots of honesty there. Respect.

JWittz: I appreciate the apology, and I’ve removed the tags just to remove any uneasiness caused – it really wasn’t intended that way. I also admire your videos and hope you continue to be successful. As for what program I use, it may sound weird but its actually Microsoft Powerpoint 2010. I just find that with the new features it has, it does all I need it to for presenting images and voice at the same time :)
Hopefully people can enjoy both of our videos without any further conflict or trouble caused.

come on J-wittz, if ya can’t take competition then get out of the game.

You run an awesome show, but there will be competition and you gotta learn to live with it. You should take it as a complement that Dan and others have liked your show enough to copy it.

You admitted your mistake about posting here, so I wont comment on that. But it may be time to get you some good publicity.

  • Papa_Mash

Since it doesn’t cost me anything to watch their videos, I don’t really care what kind of guys JWittz and PokemanDan are, nor do I care about their feelings. If JWittz wants to drop his pants on the internet that’s his prerogative. Unlike others, I am really not interested in what is exposed when he does so. As long as the videos (whether JWittz’s, PokemanDan’s or whoever’s) have substance I will watch them. Though I can see everyone saying how they appreciate JWittz’s and PokemanDan’s hard work, I am experienced enough to know that few things are done with truly altruistic motives. If someone is not trying to profit (no pun intended) off of something, they are probably looking for whatver fame, notoriety, power, etc. can be derived from it. I mean just look at all the reality shows populated with fools who have nothing substantive to offer except their willingness to prove to the world what fools they really are. I guess with everything nowadays there has to be some type of celebrity culture–Pokemon appears to be no exception.
