Dragon Beat: A New Kind of Gyarados!

Dragon Beat: A New Kind of Gyarados!

Hello everybody! Today’s deck analysis is a combo I thought of while play-testing my Blastoise/Feraligatr deck. It combines the awesome, efficient “Rain Dance” power of Feraligatr Prime with the beastly attack “Dragon Beat” of our very own Stormfront Gyarados. I haven’t yet tested the deck; it’s just an idea, so help me out with your comments!

4-4 Gyarados (SF) 3-2-3 Feraligatr Prime (HGSS-HGSS-HGSS) 3 Uxie (LA) 1 Uxie LV. X (opt.) Regice (LA) Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums

Adam’s 2010 US Nationals Tournament Report

Nationals was awesome!

I wasn’t too sure if I’d be able to make it until only a week or two before the event, but I am really glad I went. I met a lot of cool people and had a great time.

Thanks to everyone who said hi to me; it was so nice to put a face to a name and get to know a little bit about all the people I’ve conversed with the past year through the site. It was [...]

Dunsparce Combo

Dunsparce Combo

This is going to be a fairly concise post…just wanted to let everyone know about this combo I saw at Regionals.

Basically all you do is throw 1 Dunsparce HS and 2 Mr. Mime MT into your deck.

That’s it.

Fade Out for Mr. Mime, retreat (hopefully for free with Unown Q attached), rinse, and repeat.

It can fit into almost any deck and give you a huge edge against something like Gyarados. I saw it used in a straight [...]

Adam’s Regionals Report

Hey everyone, sorry for the super late report! I’ve been really trying to focus on school lately. I am graduating in like 2 weeks and have a really good chance at finishing with a GPA above 3.5 which would make me “cum laude”, so any free time I’ve had has pretty much gone towards writing papers and lab reports. (Go to my website if you want to see an example of some of the stuff I’ve been working on.)

Anyways, I played at [...]

Avoiding the Donk

Avoiding the Donk

At the moment, there seems to be a multitude of ways that you can lose first turn, granted you have a lone basic and your opponent is able get any one of these Pokemon out:

Garchomp C with a DCE and Crobats/TGI Poke Turn Sableye SF with Crobats and Expert Belt Machamp SF to do “Take Out” Jumpluff HS to do “Mass Attack” Donphan Prime to do “Earthquake” Kingdra LA to do “Hydro Pump” Shuppet PL with PlusPowers, Crobats, and Expert Belt

State Championship-Leeds UK

State Championship-Leeds UK

Hi guys its CoMiT here with my first ever post. For my first post on sixprizes I will describe my day at the Leeds State Championships in the UK.

To begin with this is my first ever POP tournament, as I have only been playing competitively for around 3 months. I have only ever attended league once as my nearest league is nearly 2 hours away. To further worsen things the event was only one of four in the country, and as such had [...]

Masters

Graham “Poteet24″ Poteet

Yea, it’s a little late, I had a majority written down since Sunday, just so busy.

Leading up to States, I had been super confused on what to play.  I had built and tested, LuxChomp, Gyarados, and a Rogue SP variant…I finally decided on a Gyarados list, which I’ll share, because unfortunately I was a break or two from the top cut.  I thought the meta would have a little more Donphan then I saw, and while I [...]

JPN Gallade’s Illinois States Report

Okay, before I talk about my tournament report, I should start by introducing myself. For those who don’t know, I am JPN-Gallade. I have joined Six Prizes recently, and I’m the same person from the Pokegym and Pokebeach with pretty much the same name, JPN Gallade. My real name however is Karol Nowak. I’ve been playing the Pokemon Trading Card Game for almost four years right now. I am from Illinois, and I live in a suburb of Chicago. I play competitively, but [...]

CA State Report

I’ve been playing Pokemon for about a year and a half now, and this was my first state tourney. I was really looking forward to it once I made arrangements in February to go. I had participated in two Battle Roads and two City Tournaments previously. In my last tournament I did really well making the cut of the final 8 but I had to bow out since I had a family to get home to. I really had underestimated how long the tournament [...]

Okemos, Michigan State Championship Report!

Okemos, Michigan State Championship Report!

I dread waking up early. Mostly because I never sleep, thanks to my rigorous work schedule and the fact that college annoyingly rules my life. But this Saturday was different. I didn’t mind waking up early because I knew I would be playing Pokemon. I arose at 8:15 AM to get ready for the day, and to make my hour trek to Okemos, Michigan’s Pokemon TCG State Championships.

I was excited because I was playing a deck I’ve never played [...]
