What is your favorite type of Pokemon card? – Poll

Lightning will probably always be my favorite form of elements. Just the main idea behind the attribute, quickness, agility, swift strikes, etc. Really cool.

Now, if there was a specific ROCK type. You know I’d be all over that :D

Honestly, darkness gets a rediculous special energy (metal gets a solid one, but unless you can really stack them, it doesn’t offer as much) and several pokemon through thier history that have smashed faces. Obviously sneasel and the dark t-tars come to mind, but things like absol sw, houndoom from neo, and pretty much any t-tar ever printed have been rediculous when combined with the additive of the darkness. Combined with an amazing resistance to psychic, which is always a powerful type, and you have a very balanced type. I think special energy for all the types would be cool, something like the holon energies, but idk what they could do.

Metal types always ended up placing me well in tournaments, ever since I started back again. From SMP, to Delta, to Dialga G today. I always liked the idea of reducing damage and tanking Pokémon.

I’m not a giant fan of any particular type: Psychic has my favorite card of all time (Alakazam EXP); and Darkness has my favorite Pokemon in it (Sableye and Shiftry).

I gotta go with Metal, though. I think I’ve dealt people some of their most embarrassing losses using absurd metal decks (e.g., beating a Magmortar/Typhlosion with Bastiodon).

For me its actually a tie between Psychic and Darkness. I find both of them tend to have Pokemon with offbeat types of attacks and Powers/Bodies. Purple is my favourite colour so that tips the balance to Psychic.

Almost every year, there is some water deck that is near the top, and it’s been proven to be one of the most consistently good types. You have Blastoise/BLS which dominated one year, Kingdra this year, decks like Feraligatr and Palkia, and you just can’t go wrong.

Although I do think Metal has just the same edge, if not more. Delta ftw!

Water, for sure. My original favorite deck was Rain Dance Blastoise, and when I got back into the game I played Empoleon/Bronzong before moving into BlastCatty for a while when Platinum came out, haha. I’ve definitely had some of the best games of my life playing with water decks.

Electric is a close second.

I’ve gotta go with colorless here. Porygon is my favorite pokemon line, so that’s a huge plus, but I really like how dynamic the colorless type is. There are just so many different varieties of pokemon and attacks with that type, though only a handful are decent, unfortunately. I also like all of the special colorless energies that have been around since double colorless energy (call, warp, upper, etc.

Dragons are also a plus

That’s weird that fire is most selected. It always is a relative lame duck, but my favorite, as all of my most “thought out, complicated” decks have been fire type. Plus, I like that it has its own special condition.

Metal is my second favorite though by a SLIM margin–there’s nothing quite like tanking with a Metal type.

Well… Burn was ORIGINALLY for just fire Pokemon… I remember it said so in the e-Card rulebook way back when, when it explained the “new special condition.”

Heh, another tie for me. This time going with Electric or Psychic. I’ve always liked how psychic pokemon tend to have fairly unique strategies and abilities – their quirkiness really makes them shine, in my eyes.

I REALLY love how electric is known for all sorts of things. Manectric EX, Electrode EX, Luxray GL LV X, Electivire LV X [very very very overlooked] to name a few of the different things electric pokemon can do. They tend to manipulate or discard energy, they can snipe, manectric EX could lock, they can do massive damage…it’s just a really cool type.

Fire… it consumes everything in its path, and it evaporates water.

I think Psychic is very overpowered. Psychic is almost always good and Nintendo is doing nothing to change that. Instead they overpower it even more by adding Poison to it.

Grass is very underpowered. Nintendo gives it tonnes of insane support (Sceptile, Landmin X) and awful cards. The closest thing (that I know of) to a great Grass card is Scyther Jungle who rarely used Grass Energy and Nidoqueen FRLG who is fighting type.

Yea man I agree that grass has been underpowered FOREVER. It always seems to be the weakest type.

Grass has always been the weakest type… there aren’t that many memorable archetypes that are grass (that weren’t first made popular by Colin Moll, that is).

I think Poison types should really be made into Grass type cards, Psychic doesn’t really make any sense, apart from the color… Don’t ask why Grass would, though. :P Good thing Beedrill’s getting popular, with the Worlds win and everything.
Personally I like Fire and Darkness, always have been my favorite types. First Fire, and when Darkness came, it was SO cool (hey, I was 8 years old).

Lightning is the best! :D Psychic is a close 2nd… but then again it depends on the Pokemon
