What is your favorite type of Pokemon card? – Adam’s Response

Banette ex Legend Maker LM 85 Pokemon CardI would have to say my favorite type of Pokemon card is psychic. There have been a ton of really cool psychic Pokemon cards released over the years. Back in the day, I thought Mr. Mime from Jungle was awesome, as well as the movie promo Mewtwo, which in my opinion was a dominating card for Haymaker decks.

I didn’t play for a few years after Team Rocket was released, but when I got back into the game I took liking to Espeon from Neo Discovery. I won a Super Battle Zone with that card (used with Light Golduck and maxed out on Double Gusts, Gold Berries, and Focus Bands).

I honestly didn’t like Gardevoir from Ruby and Sapphire, but when Banette ex and Mew ex from Legend Maker were released, they were just gnarly cards. I played with both of them, using Mew ex with Manectric ex for part of the season and Banette ex with Vaporeon ex at Nationals when I made top 16.

Last year as everyone knows, Gardevoir SW was the dominant force and I actually enjoyed playing that deck. Right now Gengar SF is a pretty nifty psychic Pokemon as well.

I just think psychic Pokemon have always been good and that they have had a range cool abilities, you can’t pinpoint one attribute that has made them good.

    I always disliked playing a real popular psychic deck because I would loathe mirror matches (x2 weakness to pyshic). I still say Lightning are the best because they usually have 0 or 1 for retreat and fast attacks :)

    Psychic is neat, there’s definitely a lot of interesting cards for that type, especially techs, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, etc. Not to mention Mewtwo, Gengar, Gardy, etc.

    Psychic is the best type, no contest, but not my favorite.

    Find me a season where Psychic WASN’T a major archetype.
    In all other types, they have had dead seasons… but never Psychic.

    My favorite type is Thunder my least favorite i would say probably i guess psychic.I like thunder cause Pikachu is my favorite Pokemon! Did u know a card will be made and it will be ash’s Pikachu that would be awesome i would want to get it plus it also could be level X a Pikachu Cool!

    Hahaha, I definately agree with Rokman, psychic has stuck it’s nasty head into the metagame time and time again and I never looked forward to those mirror-matches with them, it was always a matter of who went first and can get the first attack on each other, that stayed one prize card in the lead, GROSS!!!

    Nonetheless, Psychic’s still my fav!

    Hey, don’t forget Gallade from Secret Wonders! Even though its not a psychic, its still pretty awesome. I like fighting pokemon, because the coolest pokemon are all fighting types; Gallade, Lucario, Machamp, Rypherior.

    Like you, I like psychic/Electric, but after playing more decks, I would have to say…..Fighting.
    Fighting types have been awesome from Machamp/LV.X in SF to Relicanth in SV to (I forgot what set it is) Rhyperior, all the way to the famous Donphan Prime from HGSS. Altogether, they make a good blend of donk, snipe, vicious mid/late-game power, and almost anything else you'd want to be in a strong deck.
