Hey everyone,

Just wanted to pop in with some random updates tonight…

1. Updated Site Header

I spent a majority of yesterday morning and afternoon working on the site header. I wanted to update it to make the subscription options more prominent and make it a little more user friendly for new visitors (with the share, read, and discuss links).

I also moved the search bar to the header.

What do you think of the change?

2. Submit for Review

Articles and been pouring in the past few days which is awesome! BUT…

In order for me to look at your article and put it on the site, you need to click “Submit for Review”.

I’ve noticed a few article that look like they are done, but are labeled as “Draft”. There are tons of half written articles labeled as “Draft”, so I can’t check through all of them. You need to click “Submit for Review” when you’re finished.

So, if you’ve written an article and wonder why it hasn’t made it to the site yet, that might be why. Double check that you clicked “Submit for Review”.

It’s somewhat my fault for not making this more clear…I went back through the submit an article page and rewrote the instructions yesterday to make it more understandable.

3. Nationals

A few weeks ago it looked like there was zero chance I’d be going…but I think there is about a 50/50 chance now. I have enough money to go, the issue is whether I end up getting a job between now and then, and if I do, if they’d allow me time off so soon.

4. Ebay

I put a couple of the items I was trying to sell up on ebay, check them out if you’re interested…

I’m going to try and upgrade the message boards when I have time and continue to work on the site layout. I want to simplify things as much as possible to make it more user friendly.

Also I think we’re going to have 2 posts a day all this week, going to go through submissions right after I post this and schedule everything.

    Adam it's great that you are (possibly) coming to Nationals! Email me or whatever if you find out for sure. Anyway, I've made a lot of testing progress and hit up my boards if you are free – I made you an Admin, just like old times :p I found some cool new people too that have really good ideas too! I think we have a good shot at the tournament, definitely hit me up.

    Those playmats that are on eBay are exactly like the ones I use at tourneys. I got them during base set when I was a “gym trainer.” I recently found them in a stash of stuff and laminate them. Otherwise, I was too afraid to actually use them. Mine aren't stuck together, but if you play both, it'll look like yours.

    I also had 2 playmats from Scrye magazine. Those ones are pretty interesting, because they don't say Pokemon anywhere on the front. They just say stuff like “Active Monster.” On the back, they have all the Pokemon listed with the official logos and such. It's odd, but it's kinda neat because of that.

    Hey Kyle,

    You know I had an IRC chat room up for a while, but nobody really made use
    of it. It also kept resetting due to lack of activity and I would have to
    keep reconfiguring it. Just wasn't worth the effort.

    I'll have to look for other simpler options, but be sure to let me know if
    you come across any.

    Nice Ed! I wasn't sure if anyone else had those playmats. Those Scrye ones
    sound kinda cool…active monster. :)
