Hi welcome to this week’s Deck Tech; let’s get started. So this week we are going to discus Zekrom EX/Eels, the skeleton lists looks something like this.
    Pokemon
    2 Mewtwo
    2 Zekrom EX
    4 Thundurus EPO
    3 Tynamo NVI 38 (40 HP)
    1 Tynamo NVI 39 (30 HP)
    3 Eelektrik NVI

    Trainers
    4 Sage’s Training
    4 Professor Juniper
    4 Pokémon Collector
    4 Junk Arm
    3 Pokémon Catcher
    3 Eviolite
    3 PlusPower
    1 Switch
    2 Pokémon Communication

    Energy
    8 Lightning
    4 Double Colorless

    5 Extra spaces

So the idea of this deck is to start with Thundurus and get some early prizes as well as getting the energy flowing from your deck into the discard pile. Once discarded you use Eelektrik to attach the energy to either Zekrom or Mewtwo to give a big damage output. Let’s talk about the list:
2 Mewtwo: of course the hyped card of our current format has to be in this deck lol. Mewtwo can produce big damage with lots of energy so to attach those energy you use a combination of Thundurus and Eelektrik.
2 Zekrom: Zekrom has a similar idea to Mewtwo but with Zekrom if you power him up before Mewtwo you can circulated the energies you discarded but some people have a preference on playing more Zekrom or more Mewtwo.
4 Thundurus: This is your ideal starter to get you energies in play so 4 is a must.
4 Tynamo : 1 should be the 30 hp retreat because its sort of acts like a Cleffa when your active dies u need something with free retreat. The rest should be the 40 hp due to popular cards like Kyurem and Chandelure.
3 Eelektrik: I think running 4 is too many so I sided with 3.

    Techs:
Zekrom BW: Having a casual attacker that does not take up 2 prizes per kill.
Cleffa HS/CL: Cleffa is just there for a 5th starter but is not really necessary for the deck buts it’s your choice.
PONT/N/Copycat: I would highly recommend at least adding 2 of these because running straight on Juniper for hand refresh will deck you out eventually.
Adding more of the following: Mewtwo, Zekrom, Catcher, Eviolite, PlusPower, Switch, Communication, Pokegear, and energy, it’s really up to you on what you feel needs added. I personally like to go Pokegear because of the way it easily helps you get supporters out but someone else may prefer to add more catcher.

    Match Ups:
    Mewtwo Celibi: Slightly Unfavorable,
A typical eel deck is slow to set up and the raw speed of Mewtwo/Celibi completely destroys this deck but like most decks a bad start will change that.

Hoped you enjoy reading, leave any comments or suggestions in the comment section below also tell me what decks you want to see.

I like everything but the Match Up. Im sorry to disagree but its way easier to return the kos with Mewtwo in an Eelektrik deck than it is in a Celebi Deck so its favorable for you.(All this has been tested).

This is a test.Put it this way metwo/cellibi player attacks and gets 2 prizes with x-ball, Zek eel player brings up mewtwo with DCE and takes 2 prizes mewtwo celibi player brings up celibi attaches a grass retreats or switches into mewtwo attaches DCE or normal energy plays plus power or not depends on the DCE and takes 2 prizes boom 4 prizes for mewtwo celibi assuming you have taking prizes already with tornadus or regi that should be the game right there. Its not about whats easier to power up at all becuase a mewtwo is a emwtow weather its DCE or 2 nomral energies its powered up that simply. The only thing mewtwo celibi gets is speed that is why its a bad match up for zek eel also mewtwo is not the only attacker for mewtwo celibi and thats from my testing results idk the list's that were played for both match ups but in theory mewtwo celibi has the upper end.

somewhat correct. celebi/mewtwo will be taking a prize fomr t1 or at least t2. this deck at best is a t2.

also i'd switch tynamos. 3 free retreat and 1 40HP(in case kyurem). also no zekrom BW. you need something to nto give 2 prizes away.

This is a test.Read I put it in as a tech option. But you already have Thunderus as an attacker for early game not giving up 2 prizes.

Sorry, but this a horrible decklist imo. 1 Mewtwo, 3 Zekrom BW, and 2 Tornadus is the way to go.

    This is a test.Its a skeleton list!

You need to max thunderus because that's how your getting your energies out and into the discard pile. Zekrom BW is a tech option but imo its useless id rather save the space for other stuff, 1 Mewtwo people will laugh Mewtwo is one of your main attackers what happens if that one is prized? Tornadus servers no strategic purpose in this deck while thunderus does tornadus just movies energy i would rather have them discarded than moved around.

This is a test. You have 4 Juniper and 4 Jarm. How long were you planning on attacking with Thunderus anyway? 4 is silly. 2 is fine.
This is a test.Mewtwo is your finisher and Mewtwo counter. You shouldn't even drop it unless a) it will win you the game or b) you can get an unanswered OHKO on an opponent's Mewtwo. 1 is fine.

This is a test.I'm not a massive fan of Tornadus in the deck, but at least it diversifies your Weakness. You do realise that Tornadus moving an Energy to the Bench is DOING EXACTLY THE SAME THING as Thundurus/Eel, right? Only you don't need to set up a Stage 1 to do it.

This is a test.4 is not silly its the Pokemon you want to have in your opening hand to start out with.

Sure run 1 but the problem it the possibility of being prized 2 is safer and when you do attack with it to kill you opponents mewtwo then that mewtwo gets killed where is your finisher?

The idea of the deck is to use the eel's so it just makes more sense to use thunderuse also with tornadus you cant search for energies and attach them.

He has a point how thunderus can use charge, but how about 3 thunderus and 1 tornadus just in case of type matchup. You also take away some junpers for pont. You don't want to be throwing all of your recorces away. I understand it discards energy but it discards other things to.

This is a test. You don't really need Thundurus as a starter, though. That ideal T2 80 damage doesn't really matter in the long run, and with Junipers, Junk Arms and Sage's there are more than enough ways to discard Energy anyway. Also, what purpose will Thundurus serve past the early game? I think this deck would be better off with two or three Zekrom instead of maxing Thundurus, as Zekrom is a reliable attacker both early game and endgame.

This is a test.As for Mewtwo-EX, you could always use Super Rod to get it back. Plus, the chances are pretty slim that you'll need Mewtwo as a finisher if you've knocked your opponent's Mewtwo - this deck has enough damage output for Mewtwo to only be needed as a counter to other Mewtwos.

This is a test.So you're saying that one should not use a useful and effective Pokèmon if another weaker Pokèmon has more synergy with another Pokèmon in the deck? By that logic, Mewtwo and Zekrom are useless in this deck because they don't discard Lightning Energy. Tornadus gives the extra type coverage that Thundurus doesn't, and as for the Energy-searching attack, you've got plenty of other options (hand refreshers, Sage's, etc) to get Energy. Or you could just load it up with Eelektrik.
