Commenting Etiquette

Be cool. That's all we ask. The writers and editors put a lot of time into bringing you these articles, so show some respect. It's ok to be critical, but please be civil about it. Don't embarrass yourself in front of everyone by making juvenile remarks because you may regret it later. If you have issue with someone, "Get a room." Nobody wants to see your childish back-and-forth banter. Think twice before commenting, use proper grammar, HAVE FUN, and thanks for adding to the conversation!

No Warp Point/Energy? You can “Giga Blaster” every turn with Warp Point.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1083819532 Jack Snell

I understand that dude, and I did mention you could add two Warp Point/Warp Energy in, rather than a 1-1 Abomasnow tech if DP, Champ or Mewtwo X arent popuar in your metagame

I know what deck I’m running for Cities. Lol.
    Nice article!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1083819532 Jack Snell

Im pleased you took something from the article dude, if this allowed you to decide that Gigas is the deck you want to run for Cities, then its great to help. Respectfully,
      Jack

No debating here. Abomasnow is a MUST. Have fun during cities when you face a random “Rhyperior X/delcatty” deck or a “Rogue Hippowdown.” Let me know how things pan out if you don’t run a counter.

That being said, Regigigas is overwhelmingly overlooked. And for the most part, this is a great article. Far different from my list, but of course it largely depends on playstyle. I’d love to see this deck get a little bit more recognition.

He has to have horrible luck to get those matchups, as no one will play those in a gyrados format. PLus sacrifing consistency for 2 random rogue decks is not worth it. Abobasnow is good, but the Rhyperior and Hippowdown matchups are not the reason.

Really nice job with this Jack. Very thorough and well written… can’t ask for much more than that. I’m looking forward to your future articles man!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1083819532 Jack Snell

Appreciate the props Adam, really thank you man. And you guys can expect articles on Charizard, Luxchomp, Vilegar, Arceus, perhaps some rogue decks I have created, and a City Championship report in the near future. Basically all the decks I am intending to run this season.
I hope you guys all took some useful information out of this article, and I want to thank you Adam along with the other moderators for giving me the opportunity to become a FPM

Sweet. Keep up with the killer titles too… Shadow of the Colossus is pretty gnarly. I tried looking up the word “colossus” in my dictionary and nothing came up, but it’s still an awesome word even if it’s made up haha.

      • Anonymous

LOL You need a better dictionary!

‘a statue that is much bigger than life size.

a person or thing of enormous size, importance, or ability’

        Fits Gigas pretty well.

      • http://www.adamcapriola.com/ Adam Capriola

haha you’re right… I have a dictionary on my Mac and I must have had it on the thesaurus setting when I was trying to search. Or I spelled it wrong. :P

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1083819532 Jack Snell

Yh Im pretty killer with deck names, since 1999. And in response to the second part I can assure you “Colossus” is a real word
Definition – Something likened to an enormous statue, as in size or importance, abnormally large and powerful

Then you should help the movement to change Sablelock to SPionage. It just sounds cooler. Loved the article, by the way.

      • Jonathan

It’s also one of the Seven Wonders of the World: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colossus_of_Rhodes

Also, ‘Shadow of the Colossus’ is the name of the most EPIC video game in existence.

Deck Name: RegiLock! Lol. Great deck analysis!

Drag-off for 90 doesn’t appeal to you? HUH? 4 rescue is overkill, but running a 2-0 uxie line is underkill. Great ball? Isn’t dual ball in the format? Playing a card that nets you only non-power pokemon in your deck is ;/ as you can’t use their powers from teh card. Overall decent starting list. Obama isn’t needed though and I would not bank on seeing any rhyperior/donphan at cities unless the meta has no gdos (HA) and would rather tech in a blimp line before obama.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1083819532 Jack Snell

Drag Off for 90? Im not understanding. 4 Rescue isnt really overkill, its almost staple in Regigigas, given Sacrifice every 2-3 turns and the fact I want to keep the lock going with Mesprit, Giratina.
Why is Dual Ball any better than Great Ball? Great Ball searches your deck for any Pokemon except Gigas Lv.X, and Dual Ball flips two coins and for each Heads searches your deck for a basic Pokemon. Its personal choice, but I dislike Dual Ball for the same reason I hate SSU.
Abomasnow was more for Machamp and Mewtwo X rather than Rhyperior and Donphan as you mentioned.

Dual ball puts them to hand, while Great Ball puts them directly to the bench, negating “if you play from the hand” powers. I think that sounds right.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1083819532 Jack Snell

Damn that was dumb of me, misread it. I dont know whether Dual Ball is a good option either though. You could just increase the number of Pokemon Communication for consistency

      • http://www.facebook.com/Haaitsnick Nick Galli

drag off gigas is a much better option for taking quick prizes from the bench or stalling with bringing up a high retreat cost pokemon.

  • http://twitter.com/GTP24 Poteet24

decent list, well written/thought out path-like analysis

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_C7OQD6BLJCXQBNSHNZWVWLRXHE George

This is a very helpful article. It explains the Regigas Lock very effectivly. Great job!

nice explaneing of gigas decks (ps i just started playing charizard)

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1083819532 Jack Snell

Charizard forever dude! The greatest Pokemon ever created. Fire type Pokemon will cremate, incinerate and decimate the competition.

Nice article, well written and informative, props to you good sir.
Im not running gigas for cities, but i know a few people are, so i was interested in the new version of the deck, since i didnt know how much it had changed from dp-on.
A pity you didnt include analysis on match ups tough, but still a great article.
