Finally, a Regigias article. Great job!

What do you do against Scizor Prime with Nidoqueen tech? (Supposing your using the Powerlock Build)

    “1 Regigigas Lv.X LA”

first off, I’d run 2-2. Second of all, isn’t it SF?

    • http://www.youtube.com/user/pgmcsskater pgmcsskater

why run 2 x if he isnt going to use the attack nor the power all that much?

I have always run a 3-1 Regigigas Lv X line. Too many times you get stuck with the Lv X and no Basic. The 3-1 is more consistent. There a tons of ways to draw out the Lv X when you want it, but without the Basic in play it is useless.

im not a big fan of the second list but the first list seems alittle inconsistent

I really like the second list, it works really well. It’s fast, consistent and has little trouble maintaining a Power Lock along with a lot of hand disruption in even the longest games.

2nd list im not very supportive. gigas needs a lock to work as well. also gig blaster is the way this decks works good too. 120(with belt) is enough to ko any big pokemon(garchomp c lv x, luxray gl lv x, DGX without spec. metals,) and the disruption is great

There isn’t a single M, W, or F energy in the second list. Are you not planning on ever using Giga Blaster? If so, you need to rethink your list heavily. If you’re running a heavy smeargle line there is absolutely no need for call energy. It’s a dead card throughout almost the entire game. Also – good luck against Mewtwo and Machamp. It is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY – NO QUESTIONS ASKED – to have a stage 1 tech in here, noted Donphan, or Abomasnow. I laugh at lists that don’t run something along those lines. Playing regigigas all season has given me the knowledge that EVERY list is different, and not by just a few cards like most tier decks. Every single list is different, but there should be no exception to your list in that aspect.

Also, huge fan of 2-2 ‘gigas. Both “drag off.”

      ^^Yeah, he knows what’s up.

Hopefully this post will address some of your concerns:
No, I don’t plan to ever use Giga Blaster. I forgo the strong attack for a very strong Power Lock and hand disruption.
Just because I run three Smeargle doesn’t mean I’ll always start with it. That’s what Call Energy is for. However, I do see your point, so I may reduce it to three Calls.
Mewtwo sees very little play nowadays that bogging down consistency to win 1 in 20 matches seems like a waste. Also, even if they do use Mewtwo, I run such heavy disruption that there’s a chance it’ll never hit the field.
As for Machamp, my reasoning is a little more complex. Since this deck has terrible match ups against most Non-SP/Regi decks, most builds don’t make it into the Top cut, meaning if I run into 1 at a tournament and loose to it, I should hopefully still go X/1.
Since I don’t attack with Gigas Lv.X, I felt the need to include a stronger attacker than the “drag off” gigas.

Note: Sorry for the sloppy formatting, I’ve been having a bit of ‘puter troubles this morning, so I’m trying to get this typed before I have them once again.

I never quite understood how Regigigas worked until this came around. Great Article!

I run a slightly different line. But this is a fine article looking at two different aspects of Regigigas. I have seen about a dozen different ways to structure and tech this deck. Bottom line is that with the Promo Gigas, this is potentially one of the most disruptive, NON-SP decks in the format.
