So obviously with the release of HeartGold & SoulSilver, one of the main cards on people’s minds is the most awesome Ninetales with its “Roast Reveal” Poke-Power. Even though the popular choice is going to be to pair this and teched Typholosion Prime up with the Charizard from Arceus, I have found myself wanting to pair this card up with a deck possibly long forgotten in the era of SP and donk. Infernape has always been a hit hard and hit fast kind of Pokemon, and with the release of these new cards I think it could be a hit hard and fast every turn kind of Pokemon.
Here is the deck list i have been toying around with:
|
Pokemon: 24 4 Chimchar DP 2 Monferno DP 3 Infernape (2 DP, 1 MD) 1 Infernape LV.X DP 3 Cyndaquil HS 1 Quilava HS 3 Typholosion (1 MT, 2 Prime) 2 Vulpix HS 2 Ninetales HS 3 Spiritomb AR |
Trainers: 24 4 Rare Candy 3 Roseanne’s Research 3 Bebe’s Search 2 Pokemon Communication 2 Expert Belt 2 Broken Time-Space 2 Night Maintenance 2 Cynthia’s Feelings 1 Copycat 1 Pokemon Collector 1 Palmer’s Contribution 1 Luxury Ball |
Energy: 12 9 Fire Energy 3 Call Energy |
The General Strategy
The strategy here is simple yet effective. Using a combination of Ninetales and Typholosion Prime I am able to attach multiple Energy to Infernape. This enables me to constantly use Flare Blitz and or Mega Bravo every turn for 90 and 80 damage respectively. Night Maintenance and Palmer’s Contribution help with Energy recycling and putting key Pokemon back into your deck.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Hits a solid consistent 80 to 90 damage a turn
- Once fully set up can attach easily 4 Energy per turn
Cons
- Can sometimes take a lengthy set up time
- Typholosion Prime puts a damage counter for every use of its power
So that’s the general setup of this potentially explosive deck idea using everyone’s old favorite monkey king. Let me know what you think and feel free to add in any ideas of your own and fixes.
