After building and playing around with this deck I found that 4 reshirams isnt really needed. 3 I think is a good amount (given the use of revives) Also originally I tried stantler but I found a 3/2 split of pidgey TM/Col and Cleffa hgss/Col to work pretty well with setting up. Dont get me wrong, stantler is really good to and both should be considered. Also playing a 3-2-3 line of emboar (2 ability, 1 non-ability) might not be a bad play. The one with no ability 1 shots opposing emboars, reshirams and zekroms, so I like it as a back up attacker. Also, my friend has been trying a zoark tech because of it’s ability in the mirror to one shot a reshiram with the help of a plus power which is also very useful considering the Blue flare is only 10 short of KOing reshirams and zekroms. And one more thing, burned tower has worked wonders for me.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I love to hear people talk about using stantler/pidgey/cleffa etc.

      Loving rotation.

haha the first thing i did was go through all my COL stuff to pull out cleffas and pidgeys lol

“Once upon a time, Stantler, Pidgey, and Cleffa were left out in the dust, as no one wanted to use them; they were just too weak. But one magical day, Tsunekaz Ishihara amde a rainbow in their hearts, as they are now very viable cards. Hurray for all!”

Great Article, I for sure will be using this for some help with my build.

You Could also add Magnezone Prime for the blastgatr/samugatr matchup

That would be a second Stage 2. Even with one Stage 2 in the HGSS-On format, your deck is already slow compared to some of the others.

Love the article. This is a good article for beginners because you explain everything simply and in detail also. Nice job!

While I’m not considering a Reshiboar deck, I do love the idea of a Beartic/Vileplume. Almost a complete lock down. Thanks for the idea.

If you can play all your energy back down (like with Inferno Fandango, nice twist on Rain Dance), then Super Scoop Up is quite nice.

running shuckle promo to combine draw engine with ninetails gives this deck a lot of draw power and you can load up multiple reshiram’s in the same turn, just need shaymin UL, seeker, super scoop up or unown return to get the energy back off shuckle and onto the reshiram’s or to repeat draw process, then PONT to reset your deck if you had to draw everything to find all the reshiram’s… but shuckle with its 60hp and useless attack (without grass/rainbow energy) is very unfortunate as a starter

My only question is why aren’t you running 4 communication and at least 2 juniper.
In my opinion communication is a 4 of in every deck as it just raises your consistency, and juniper just allows you to draw through so much faster.

I prefer PONT over Juniper in this deck mainly because sometimes I’ll have a ton of cards in my hand from Ninetales. As for Communication, it’s been considered. In the forum thread where this started out http://www.sixprizes.com/forums/deck-discussion/3089-reshiboar-reshiram-bw-emboar-inferno-fandango-bw-hgss.html myself and another guy have been working a lot to try and get the best build possible.

The build in this deck is likely a tier 2 build, and is very easy to play (making it great for beginners). We’re trying to make it fast and consistent enough to be tier 1.

Only suggestion i have is anti-zoroark counter. Foul Play is a bit nasty when it comes to cloning attacks and with a special dark on it its a one hit KO against Reshiram/zekrom

    maybe a Swak or Throh

A very good list, after making one myself, testing and comparing the two I wish I read your list first. 2 Rescues work much better than 4 and I wish I’d thought of PONT earlier. Zoroark fits in nicely using the DCE and a couple of pidgeys are good as a starter or an communication bait.

    • Anonymous

Well thanks! This is a fairly average list, and I may have developed a much faster one (though it may not fare quite as well in the late game). I think someday I’d like to write one massive ReshiBoar article discussing far more in depth various builds, techs, tips, tricks, etc. This article is more of an overview of the deck.

  • gavintb_94

Zoroark’s foul play can’t copy Reshiram’s “Blue Flare” I believe? Since it requires you to discard 2 fire energy (unless you play fire energy on Zoroark)

    • Anonymous

Zoroark actually still can copy Blue Flare. Since Blue Flare just says discard 2 fire all that happens is that a zoroark with dce wouldn’t discard anything. Blue doesn’t specify anything that says other wise.

Great article, I am considering reshiboar as one of my favorite decks due to my love of fire types.  Awesome read :)

Kingdra prime is a better tech for the mirror match (sure, you cannot attack with him) but that extra 10 help you OHKO reshiram, zekrom, stage 2 pokes withour requiring further action. The new gust of the wind might change everything tough.
