I have since thought of putting in a 1-1 Delcatty PL in to be able to add another two Energy cards to the top of your deck. So, if you had 5 Energy in your discard pile, you could put down a Dialga and then use Delcatty to get the top five cards to all be Energy. Five flips for 50 should be good.

Maximum potential is five flips for 50, and on average you’re doing 125 damage with that max. The problem is, even if you can do that much potential damage per turn, you never know when you’re actually going to get the KO or not, thus it’s almost impossible to have a consistent strategy while playing.

Maybe fun for league play, but even flipping 5 coins a turn doesn’t cut it for me.

    Note to self:

    1. Get a rigged dice.
    2. Build an Octillery deck.
    3. Hope to get 100% heads.
    4. …
    5. PROFIT!.

Thanks for the idea of Dialga. I’ll almost definatly be adding this and Felicity’s into my Octillery deck.
Also the addition of a 1-1 Floatzel GL Lv X can be helpful as the body allows you to pick up any water pokemon that are KO’d, reducing the chance of you being left without an Octillery/Remoraid. Also it’s attack allows you to put alot of energy from your hand back into your deck.

I played a screw around deck like this. It ran 32 energies and octillery and kingdra. Kingdra never got set up, but octillery was awesome. Yeah delcatty and your dialga ideas are cool, but just running a boatload of energies works too. I dont think monferno will work, though.

I like this deck, but it not top tier, so bring it to a local, but not nationals.

I can’t say I like flippy attacks for something competitive like a tournament. People use SSU and other flippy trainers because they ARE trainers. Sure, it sucks when you get a tails in crucial moments, but at least you can still attack. Flippy attacks can waste turns, especially when you have to go by what’s on the top of your deck.

If I were to play Octillery, I would just run lots of energy. Screw a partner, this octopus is a loner.

I’ve been running a deck with 3-3 octillery 1-1 floatzel gl and 4 sableye with all dark and special dark energies. Sableye gives you a donk possibility, but then combo’d with 4 rosy’s and 4 bebe’s allows you to set your bench up bench up with some octilleries, the floatzel level x, and then guareentee almost 80% energies in your deck. It does rely on your floatzel not getting sniped so you can reuse your remoraids and octilleries, but its the most consistent combo I have found. Pachirisu and delcatty can fit in nicely instead of sableye and floatzel, but then you need lots of cards to discard energy

well first its porygon Z lv.x. And second its hard to get a 2nd stage benched lv.x. Its easier just to run 30+ energies.

Solid blog. I got a lot of good info. I’ve been keeping an eye on this technology for awhile. It’s interesting how it keeps changing, yet some of the core components remain the same.
