Absol G Lv.X is probably the most underrated card in Supreme Victors. Most people are just like “Ew Absol? Just play Luxray GL or something.” While Absol G doesn’t have as much flexibility as Luxray, it has a few things that make it stand out.
First is its speed. Because they are both Dark Pokemon, Absol can work with the starter, Honchkrow G, which allows it to set up easily. You generally grab things like Power Spray or Energy Gain and Poke Turn, for the reuse of Crobat G or Absol G Lv.X. That way you can repeatedly “Darkness Send” against decks that rely on specific cards to win. Examples of such cards are Beedrill or Lv.X’s or even cards that your opponent is hoping to topdeck. Power Spray is used to hinder your opponent’s set up or disrupt, which is our next topic.
Disrupting is always great. Imagine you’re playing against a deck that REALLY depends on that Claydol GE or the Uxie LA. They set up a Claydol GE and attempt to “Cosmic Power”, you play a Power Spray and shut down their draw for that turn. Instead, if they have not yet evolved to Claydol, drop a Crobat G and “Flash Bite” for 10 damage, followed by “Target Attack” from Honchkrow G to KO the Baltoy.
You also have “Darkness Send”, which is Absol G Lv.X’s Poke-Power. Let’s say you’re up against Speedrill. They have one Beedrill set up and you “Darkness Send” and mill a Beedrill or two. There’s NO way to get them back. Also, you can use “Darkness Send” multiple times a game using cards such as: Poke Turn, Premier Ball and Aaron’s Collection.
The Attackers:
Absol G Lv.X
“Darkness Slugger” can do 70 damage with a Special Dark Energy attached and a discard of one other Energy. I personally think that that is great. “Darkness Send”, as that we have discussed earlier, is very disruptive. “Faint Attack” is interesting as it can get around Mewtwo Lv.X. “Doom News” isn’t too great, seeing as how your opponent’s Active can always retreat or switch out of it.
A tech against SP’s. While playing 2-3 Psychic Energy and the Majestic Dawn Mewtwo I think you’re all set.
Bannette
A Mewtwo Lv.X counter while playing Mewtwo Lv.X = Great. You]re already playing Psychic Energies, so don’t waste the room for Ninetales MT, or Mismagius. Ninetales needs Fire Energies and Mismagius is risky.
Zangoose
Mainly a Gyarados tech to use “Invite and Strike” to bring up a Registeel and knock it out later.
On to the deck list…
