Hello everyone, my name is Eric and this is the first article I’ve written for SixPrizes. I thought I’d send in a deck idea I had with the yet to be released Magnezone Prime. I’ll be discussing a few cards that have not yet been released yet, so I’ll give you the deck list here and then explain.
Magnezone Deck List
|
Pokemon – 21
4 Magnemite |
T/S/S – 28
3 Broken Time-Space |
Energy – 11
7 Lightning Energy |
I will start by discussing the Pokemon used in this deck.
Pokemon
Magnezone Prime: This Pokemon has a respectable 140 HP. Its Poke-Power “Electromagnetic Draw” is akin to Claydol’s “Cosmic Power,” but lacks the ability to put cards from your hand back underneath your deck. While this power lacks the versatility of Claydol, it will still help setup quite a bit.
Magnezone’s attack Lost Burn does 50x the amount of Energy you place into the Lost Zone from all of your Pokemon. This attack suffers from losing your energy from the game completely. However as a last ditch attack or against a beefy HP Pokemon this is a pretty powerful attack.
Here is its exact translation:
Magnezone (Prime) – Lightning – HP140
Stage 2 – Evolves from Magneton
Poke-Power: Electromagnetic Draw
You can use this power once during your turn. Draw cards from your deck until you have 6 cards in your hand. This power can’t be used if this Pokemon is affected by a Special Condition.
[L][C] Lost Burn: 50x damage. Place any number of Energy attached to your Pokemon in play into the Lost Zone. This attack does 50 damage for each of those Energy cards.
Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: Metal (-20)
Retreat: 3
Magnezone SF: This Magnezone is used for its energy acceleration ability with the Poke-Power “Super Connectivity” this will allow you to build up your Magnezone’s faster at the cost of putting one counter on them. It can also be used as a secondary attacker with its Gyroball attack.
Magnezone LV.X: Finally, this Magnezone is used for its “Electric Trans” Poke-Power. This will allow for free transit of energy between your Pokemon and comes with a decent attack doing 80 plus paralysis.
Pacharisu: This new pokemon that will be released in the HGSS: Triumphant set allows a much needed energy acceleration to this deck. Pacharisu’s power “Self Charge” allows you to attach two Lightning Energy cards from your hand to your Pacharisu when you play Pacharisu from your hand to your bench. I really feel like this card has a lot of potential in many decks.
Dialga & Palkia Legend: This legend card is simply to add prizes to your opponents field with the attack Manipulate Time.
Strategy
The strategy to this deck is to build up both a Magnezone Prime and Magnezone SF whilst using Spiritomb. This will allow building up your hand and energy acceleration. While both Magnezone’s have a poor weakness to fighting types with the addition of the LV.X the weakness can be replaced with a more manageable Fire type weakness.
This deck can hit both hard and create difficulties with the addition of Dialga & Palkia Legend. With Pacharisu you should be able to put down two Energy and move them over to your Magnezone with the “Electric Trans” power.
Conclusion
While a few of these cards haven’t released yet I thought it’d be interesting to at least start thinking about combos with these new cards. I think with a few tweeks this could be a really fun deck that consists of several options while playing.
