I like special condition decks…. its just they dont work for me…. I love Parasect too but idk what will you do against steelix?

For steelix, you can use Shedinja to damage, and since Steelix has a Pokebody, Shedinja can go to town.

This deck would be A LOT easier to play if it was focused on Parasect/Darkrai G in my opinion. Have 2-3 Darkrai G out, attach expert belt to Parasect’s attack, put your opponent to sleep. If your opponent is asleep, you now you did 90 damage in one turn. If your opponent has free retreat Pokemon, Dugtrio PL would be useful because it would add an extra 20 damage to your opponent if they retreat. Now you did 110 damage altogether.

great feedback! I like your idea of really focusing on Parasect. I guess the only thing I struggled with was the high energy cost of parasect’s attack and knowing that it could cripple the deck’s strategy if it got KOed too often or too quickly. The other challenge with this deck is that DialgaChomp will probably eat it for breakfast as it tends to run a lot of warp energies which obviously is tough for this deck to handle, and once Dialga G Lv X is set up, it can use Poketurns to break the lock/heal. Another tech that might work well in this deck is Froslass GL as it can be disruptive and possibly add damage counters with Darkrai G.

With that said, I think Dialga G is the worst matchup, and if there is a way to build the deck to more consistently deal with that threat, I think it could do well.

Vileplume might actually make status condition decks viable again. This is interesting.

I don’t think Parasect is the way to go, but I think you’re correct. I’ll show off my super secret deck once I’ve gotten more testing done, right now it’s more of a pipe dream than anything I can brag about.

Pretty cool article. I think i would prefer gliscor X any day though for a deck focused on status. It has 100% paralysis

I actually like gliscor too, but parasect has the whole grass synergy going for it. If your opponent Judges you with Gliscor in your hand, it’s really hard to reset with the trainer lock on.
