I had this idea literally two weeks back, interesting that it surfaced in you as well. nice article though

  • Dialgarock

i can now get tuned to 2010-2011 format… but i feel sad when claydol was out :(…anyways…im finding fake cards so that i can play with my friends (unofficial game but 6 prizes)

  • espy87

you should still run the option of solrock/lunatone for draw and to drop karps. 2-1-2 feral is fine, ive played it with the blastoise unleashed, WHICH you should be playing with him, 100 and discarding an energy from everyone on a flip isnt too grand.

i dont think this deck will work, you should test it more before posting the article
i mean, there are so many simple things i see wrong that could make it much more effective
i just dont understand the concept of posting an article on a deck that your not familiar with, but to each his own

The GS Gyarados (4/123) has a similar attack. Its Hyper Beam does 80 for two water and two colorless. It's not flippy, but it only removes 1 energy from the opponent's active. It takes away the Tail Revenge possibility, but I'm not sure that is a bad thing, because it lets you run like a 2-2 Gyarados line. It also lets you run less energy (and maybe some DCE). Maybe you toss in an Ambipom G. Then when the defender has no energy, you can Snap Attack. When it doesn't, you can Tail Code or Hyper Beam. Celebration Wind Shaymin could be tossed in to help move the energy around when you need to.

I think it's a fun idea. All in all, though, I'm not convinced that it can be consistently quick and devastating to your opponent's set up.

  • Peter

this is DEFINATELY interesting. you can go early game tail revenge knock outs and if you run in to Mr Mime Wall, you can attach away with feraligator. i like it

  • Ssoldiersaturn

Run DCE in here. It works nicely for Blastoise and will help gyarados too

  • Versilaryan

I like Ed's Celebration Wind Shaymin idea. Lucien's Assignment might also be a good idea. Also, especially because you have many Pokemon with a heavy retreat cost, I suggest you either add a couple Switches/Warp Points, or you tech in a 1-1-1 or 1-0-1 Polytoed UL.

I'd also suggest at least one recovery card. One recovery card as a “just in case” sort of thing can't be a bad thing.

  • Rhin

I played a deck almost exactly like this in BRs, but its way too slow to disrupt anything, I also added Floatsel GL lv X to recover the gyarados, energies and tools, and play them right next turn with BTS and Gatr.
It was a nice deck and fun to play, but not fast enough, and it also needs a reversals, cyclone or some sniping, and the flippy effect is not consistent enought to disrupt.

the problem i have with this deck is that it takes to much luck to get every thing going i mean u would need a god start to beat any sp deck so to me any thing with the gator in it is just to slow.

  • awesomedude

i think its a good rogue idea, but it will be too slow to play. after the rotation however, it should see some play.

  • st00ben

I'm not pro or anything at this game, I'm just getting into it, actually. You might want to re-do your article, or tack on 10 extra cards. Your totals only 50.

  • chrataxe

So sayeth the man running Blastoise. I thought Blastoise was pretty cool when it first came out, until I actually tried running it: stoopid.

Deck builds SHOULD be based on probability. That means, every other turn, this deck will discard up to 5 energy, and you think that is a bad idea? But, for some reason, Blastoise is ok? Feraligatr seems ok, but is WAY to easy to shut down. Weakness to grass, high retreat, mediocre attack, and a special condition will shut down ANY deck that has it in it…I'll never run it. But, you think it's ok to run as long as its in Blastoise? Ok…

“I don't THINK” and “I just don't understand” are phrases that invoke the old saying: It is better to let everyone think you are a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

If it is such a bad article, why only have ONE suggestion that wasn't that good anyway.

While many of 6P's rogue articles are just flat-out bad (see most articles involving Tangrowth or Ho-Oh LEGEND), this is a prime example on how to write one: fast, consistent, and – best of all – a loose enough build to not constrain people experimenting with the idea to any one train of thought; you can tech appropriately.

    Excellent read.

  • Curious G

I made I deck similar to this but with claydol so I'm no sure about post claydol rotation here is my list

    3 magikarp SF
    3 Gyarados SF
    2 Feraligator Prime
    1 Croconaw MT
    2 Totodile HGSS
    2 Baltoy
    2 Claydol
    1 Uxie
    1 Azelf
    1 Pachirisu GE
    1 Crobat G

    19 Pokemon

    4 Roseanne's Research
    2 Fisherman
    3 Bebe's Search
    2 BTS
    4 Rare Candy
    1 Palmer's
    2 Night Maintenance
    3 Warp Point
    2 Switch
    2 Expert Belt

    25 Energy

    8 Water Energy
    4 Call Energy
    4 DCE

    16 Energy

It's tight I know but has a lot of potential, The fisherman works great after your gyarados is knocked out,
If you can't dragon beat on turn 1 or turn two just wreak havoc for the disruption and when I can't two hit KO a pokemon, I usually go for Dragon beat first or then Wreak havoc for disruption or another dragon beat for energy discard. It's very fun to play and very disruptive when you hit a lot of heads, I had a player scoop because he ran out of energy and I was able to discard his recovery items like palmers and night maintenance. Like I said, has a lot of potential.

  • Curious G

oops forgot luxury ball, you can take out 1 roseanne for the luxury ball. yes you heard right, 1 roseanne for 1 luxury ball.

  • R Taylor Wilson

for all the water energies you should add 1-0-1 kingdra LA

  • mewuk85

say their was an sp magic carp, would you be able to put 7 in discard pile over 200 ko or would it not work because it says sp. LOL
