Blaziken FB Lv.X is arguably one of the best SP cards to be released in the Supreme Victors set, and has seen widespread play during the Battle Roads season. Blaziken FB LV.X is best combined with Luxray GL LV.X, but also works nicely with Blaziken from Platinum
. Although many people have disregarded Blaziken PL and stuck with Luxray GL LV.X, I still feel that it is proper to recognize these two together. The card combo is simple. You use Blaziken PL’s Poke-Power “Fire Breath” to burn the opponent and use Blaziken FB LV.X’s Poke-Body “Burning Spirit” to an additional 40 damage for all attacks done to that Pokémon. Together the effects are devastating and allow you to do tons of damage for a low amount of energy with both Blazikens. To me, it seems that people have strayed away from using Blaziken PL with Blaziken FB because they “just can’t get it to work” when in reality their deck lists may be inconsistent. Here’s a list that is sure to be consistent.

Why run a list like this? Blaziken FB is by far the best starter in the deck. The quicker you can level up and get its “Burning Spirit” Poke-Body into play the more damage you can get from its burn. It’s also good to “Luring Flame” any of your opponent’s Claydols, Uxies or other Basic Pokémon to mess their setup in the first couple of turns. By the time you get out your Platinum Blaziken, you will be hitting for a lot of damage, where you can take out all sorts of attackers in one hit such as Flygon LV.X and Machamp Stormfront. As you can see, I prefer a heavy 3/1/3 Platinum Blaziken line because I want to insure that I am getting at least one of them out by turn 3 or 4. Furthermore, it is very crucial to get two of them out against SP decks because chances are they will Power Spray your “Fire Breath.” Lastly, I run a handful of Cyrus’s Conspiracy for that added support if one of your Claydol gets knocked out… Although it has not seen much play, do you think Blaziken FB/Blaziken can compete with the top Battle Roads deck choices?
What are the pros and cons of running Blaziken FB LV.X with Blaziken Platinum versus Luxray GL LV.X in your area? What kind of changes would you make to this list?
