So, I’ve been playing Pokemon TCG since the summer of 2009. I’ve only won 2 Battle Roads in my career. The City Championship I attended was the first CC I had ever played, so I was nervous. It was at a library in Carpinteria, CA. There were many people I’ve seen before at Battle Roads and at other leagues I went to. I was playing in the Seniors division and ran a Flygon / Gengar deck. I ran Gengar from [...]

Hi this is a tournament report about the Huntley, IL City Championships that took place on 1/10/10. My name is Clinton Chan and I’m in the Masters Division. I’m a resident of Chicago, IL and a frequent visitor and commenter on sixprizes.com. So this was going to be the last possible City Championship I was going to be able to attend for this season and I really wanted a win to cap of a solid showing of top 4 and a finals in my [...]

I figured it was only fitting that I wrote a report on the very last CC’s of the season. This one was in Huntley, IL; a small town 45 minutes west of Chicago. The turn out was phenomenal. Over 100 heads, with 64 Masters. This is what the game is all about. The tournament was run by Jimmy Ballard, (2nd place at Worlds 2008, and owner of Collect-a-Card n’ Comics in Chicago and Top Cut Comics in Rockford). The head judge was Jeremy Adams, [...]

Hey everyone. My name is Kevin and I have been playing the Pokemon Trading Card Game for about 6 months now. I was originally in Seniors, but did not participate in many tournaments, or even top cut. There was a city championship about 10 minutes from my house, so I decided to go. I decided on playing Dialga / Garchomp, also known as “DialgaTank.” I played a standard list, but did not tech in Ambipom G or Toxicroak G promo, which ended up hurting [...]

Being my very first CC, as you could imagine I was a bit apprehensive about going, but also wanting to see what exactly the experience would merit I found myself wanting to go more so then not. So that very morning I loaded the car as myself and another group set out on the three hour drive to Hot Springs Arkansas. I will spare you the details of the drive but let’s just say it was less then spectacular.
We arrive more early then we [...]

I know this is very late but I didn’t have an account so I’m doing it now. So I get picked up by my friend and my friends Dad. While we drive there I play Kirby Squeak Squad and Pokemon Platinum on my DS Lite. Before I knew it we were there. I was playing SHUPPET DONK. The bad part of my list is I used Spiritomb; the only reason I used it is because I couldn’t find my Mr.Mime [...]

First off, I live in Central Cali, Fresno CA to be precise, which is 4 hours away from most tournaments either far up in NorCal, or way down in SoCal, so you can imagine how life sucks trying to play the Pokemon Trading Card Game driving to a tourney in a GT with terrible gas mileage making these trips worth fitting in Disneyland and a trip to Mexico all at once. This one fortunately was only 2 hours away, which isn’t quite [...]

Well, I finally made it out to my first City Championship of the season over the weekend! I own almost no cards right now, but thankfully my friend Ian was able to bail me out by throwing together a Beedrill deck for me to use. He used an SP deck with pretty much every SP in it, so I think his plan was for me to take out any of his troublesome matchups, like Flygon and Gyarados, and give him [...]

Sorry for the belated report, everyone. The holidays caught up with me and it wasn’t until tonight that I realized I had completely forgotten to write this. Anyway, thanks to the kind souls that reside in Mike M. Gage R. and Shiela R, I was able to get a ride to the Lakewood, WA City Championships at The Game Matrix.
I decided to stick with LuxApe with a splash of Garchomp and Dialga, but (spoilers!) have since moved onto LuxChomp. [...]

I know it’s a little late, but this is my report for the Lacey CC’s hosted at Gabi’s Olympic Cards & Comics. I’m running a Gengar deck right now and this is how I did:
Round 1 VS. Sheila R. (Gengar) It was a mirror match and she was a pretty good competitor. It ended up going to time and I was one prize up, but by some misunderstanding she ended up taking her next turn, after I had finished [...]
