So, you’ve made it past the first couple turns. You’ve got your starter out, and you’re going for your main attacking Pokemon. This is the point where it hits you that that starter isn’t going to last forever, and that you need some way to keep setting up while actually damaging your opponent.
As far as support goes, there are a few options in the current modified format. Not all of them are widely thought of, but they can all work under different circumstances. Some of …

Greetings to everyone! This is my first article submission for SixPrizes.com, I hope you enjoy it!
In real life, it’s important to make a good first impression with people you meet. Well, that same idea applies to Pokemon, and today I’m going to talk about Starters in the Pokemon TCG and how they can affect your game.
In researching the Modified format for cards that I thought would make good Starters, I found a surprising amount of interesting cards I hadn’t noticed before, or had written off …

Yesterday, my friends and I decided that we needed to establish the best card in the Modified format. We gathered 32 of our favorites, scrambled them, and pitted them against each other. Here are our results:
ROUND 1:
GAME 1: Luxray GL Lv.X vs. Cynthia’s Feelings
A fairly easy pick. Cynthia’s Feelings does provide incredible draw power when it really counts, but Luxray GL Lv.X has been one of the top cards this year for its revolutionary gusting ability. WINNER: Luxray GL Lv.X
GAME 2: SP Radar vs. Dialga …

So we are coming to the end of another great year, filled with many great new additions to the current TCG format. The card game has seen many new twists introduced, from SP Pokemon that allowed you to play insanely powerful monsters with great speed to a Lost Zone from where your cards can never return. However, throughout this year, there have been cards that stood out among the others, and I am taking it upon myself to honor those cards today. Let’s begin…
Most Underrated: …

Chat With The Champs #001: Stephen Silvestro
By Kenny Wisdom
Welcome to the inaugural Chat With The Champs column. For the uninformed, Chat With The Champs is a new, bi-weekly (hopefully!) column brought to you by Kenny Wisdom, Team B-Side and SixPrizes.com. Each column will be an interview with an important figure in the game, be them players, collectors, professors, etc! Our goal is to take user-submitted questions (for the most part), …

I thought it would be a good idea to expand on my article about teams from last week and tell you how to get on an existing team instead of creating one yourself.
The truth is, you don’t have to be a great player to get on a good Pokemon TCG team or find a well accomplished testing partner. While it can help to have the reputation of being a solid player, it is not the biggest reason people choose their teammates.
The main factor that …

I thought this might be an interesting topic for anyone that wants to get to a new level in terms of Pokemon TCG skill and success.
Joining or starting a team can be one of the best ways to improve at the Pokemon TCG, but it is not all fun and games; if you are going to be serious about it, it takes a huge commitment. I have been a part of some very successful teams in the past, but honestly I don’t think I …

Hello, and welcome fellow nerds players! My name’s J-Wittz, you might know me by my unbelievably long posts and commentary on articles from time to time. Well guess what? Now my long posts are up here at the front of the page with pictures too, so you almost HAVE to read them! I’ve decided that while I COULD write my Battle Roads tourney report in the fullest of detail with my most exquisite memory, it was actually the worst tournament of my career and my first …

Staraptor seems like it can be a decent option to replace Claydol GE in decks, at least for newer players that are not able to get the expensive staple and given the increase Lv.X’s ratio in the Platinum: Supreme Victors set.
I think this card definitely has a future in SP decks though. Being able to guarantee a Cyrus every turn? Reliably use Flint’s Willpower when you need it and maybe even surprise your opponent with it? The possibility to guarantee Lucian’s Assignment the turn you …
