Today, I’m going to start taking a look at the new cards from Triumphant. Note: If you left me a COTD Suggestion, rest assured, I still plan to get to you.
Ok, today’s card is the much hyped Supporter, Twins. Twins received a lot of attention for a good reason. Let’s get to the card, shall we?
Twins is a supporter card that lets you search your deck for any two cards in your deck and add them to your hand. The catch? You must be behind in prizes.
This card, along with the “Black Belt” Supporter, sort of bring back the old “Pow! Hand Extension” theme of coming back when you’re loosing. Twins is a fantastic card that can be played in nearly ANY deck that isn’t SP. Even SP may be able to make great use of this card as well.
The ability to search for any two cards is amazing. This cards is great to make a comeback in the game. However, the best use for this card is its anti-SP use. If the game is SP vs Non-SP, SP will almost always take the first prize, meaning you can get any two cards to instantly put you back in the game. Get that Energy, Poke-Turn, Rare Candy, Stage 2, Expert Belt or whatever else you need to get you back into the game and put you in a much better position to take over the game.
The deck that it probably works the best in, however is Regigigas. It’s a pretty slow deck that will probably have your opponent 1, 2 or sometimes even 3 prizes ahead before you’re set up. Also, you will sometimes give your opponent a prize card when setting Regigigas LV.X up, meaning that Twins would be used in nearly every duel to help greatly increase your decks set up.
Recommendation: I’d say really give it a try in SP, especially DialgaChomp, play about 2 in most decks. However, in slower decks like Regigigas, Tyranitar and Torterra, I’d try out 2-4 copies.
Rating 5/5 (Great card that will help almost every deck)
The Card of the Day suggestion thread is still taking YOUR requests. I’d love to know what card YOU want reviewed. I’ve already gotten a lot of requests, so keep em coming, I’ll eventually get to each one!
