Oh god this card is SOOOOO UNDERATED! People think its too slow… Its only one stage higher than claydol and its not hard to set up at all. It speeds stuff up more than it slows is. Not being able to cycle isnt a big deal, drawing until you have when ever you want is awesome! Plus it’s attack is amazing if you want to take out a high HP pokemon fast.

I don’t know how well it works as an engine in any deck, but I do agree that its attack is amazing and its Poke-Power is off the charts in Magnezone/X or straight Magnezone decks.

It works great. My friend teched a line into donphan machamp and also with a regice tech he could discard 2 and then draw for more every turn. Its no claydol but its the closest we’ve got.

If you MUST have cycling with it, pair with Banatte PL. But seriously, this is a GOOD card. Not as good IMO as Ninetails HGSS when in Charizard, but still pretty awesome.

While I’ll admit it’s no Claydol, it’s still SUPER AWESOME!!!!!

Great insight! I wrote an an article about Magnezone and absolutely love it! I didn’t think Prime was going to be that good, but I was wrong. It works really well.

In play testing, I’ve found a few cards that work great with it. The first is Blissey PL which lets you discard and heal. This helps get rid of junk cards in your hand or let’s you throw a lightning or metal energy into the discard pile to pull out with Switch Magnezone. This also gives more draw power with Prime.

I also like Expert Belt as having the 2 energy lost burn damage + 20 expert belt can KO most SP cards, and getting 2 energy a turn on Prime is very doable with Switch Magnezone in play and Blissey PL.

Like someone else noted below, Judge is also an excellent addition with Prime. It refreshes your hand, usually reduces your opponents hand, and gives you the opportunity to draw 2 or more cards with Prime.

Another tech I love right now is Lucario GL since Gyarados is so prevalent. With an expert belt, you only have to Lost Zone 1 energy to deal out 70 x 2 = 140 to KO Gyarados. Or, you can use switch magnezone with expert belt to OHKO Gyarados and keep a trainer lock on with Spiritomb.

Definitely a cool card- I give it a 4.5 or better. Thanks for writing this!

Hmm, MagneGatr is definitely the way to go with this astounding card – wouldn’t be surprised if this hits Oslo city championship pretty hard… This of course highly bases itself on the use of the unsearchable “rare candy”, which gives the card Junk Arm an excellent opportunity to do its thing, especially as this combines nicely with the prime’s pokepower:)

And look how good it is now.
