Card of the Day – Energy Exchanger Undaunted UD 73

Today’s COTD is yet another card from HGSS Undaunted, the trainer Energy Exchanger. This card allows you to switch one energy card in your hand with another energy in your deck. At first, it seems like a really bad Energy Search, but when you read it again, you see that it is one one of the few cards that can search your deck for special energies. Suddenly, it goes from nowhere near playable to very playable. This will allow you get a wide variety of special energies such as Warp, Cyclone, Double Colorless, Metal, Darkness, Call, and if needed, you can just get a different color basic energy.

This card is very good in a wide variety of decks, such as LuxChomp, DialgaChomp, Tyranitar, Scizor variants, Steelix variants, and most other decks that use special energies will try to fit this card in their lists.

    I definately love this card, it just makes dialga chomp so much better if its used at the right time. instead of running warp points and warp energies, you could run energy exchanger and warp energies to search warp energies out or special metals to further increase the tanking ability of Dialga G. However, it is also a trainer and due to the amount of lock decks in this format like vilegar and bunch of rogue decks using vileplume, it will be hard for this card to see play in many decks other than dialga Chomp. however a great card :D 4/5

      Yeah, I agree with you 99.99%, I think that Tyranitar/Steelix/Scizor will play this card as well. Not so sure that LuxChomp will because of A. Trainer Lock and B. The lists are extremely tight, may not be room

    Awesome card. If it weren’t for trainer lock, i would give it a 5/5. That threat drops it to 4.5/5 me thinks.

    I have the same opinion as chrataxe, the trainer lock makes it very hard.
    But i think when tvins are coming to the format, its getting dialga lv x and warp energy.
    Then it will help trainers also, and vilegar wont be that good anymore.
