I’m going to try and make this quick because I have a lot of schoolwork eyeing me up right now.
We all know that Bronzong G is pretty much a staple card in SP decks. Its ability to transfer an Energy off before using a Poke Turn can save you a prize and an Energy drop all in one. It gives you that ability to attack with a Pokemon a turn sooner than you normally would.
The thought occurred to me earlier today that Bronzong might actually be decent in non-SP decks. Let me explain how:
Bronzong lets you move Energy off SP Pokemon onto any Pokemon, so what you would do is play Bronzong on your bench and attach an Energy to it. You would then be able to move this Energy to any of your Pokemon at any time of the game (barring a Power Spray or Mesprit drop).
This could be advantageous for a few reasons. If you are playing a deck that has more than 1 attacker, this would give you the option to power up both Pokemon simultaneously, possibly causing your opponent to make a faulty decision in their planning. If you have just 1 Energy on two attackers and 1 on Bronzong, either one of them could have 3 Energy and be doing a big attack the next turn via “Galactic Switch“.
You could also store a Special Energy card like Upper Energy on Bronzong and then move it onto a Pokemon whenever you get behind in prizes.
However, Bronzong does take up a bench spot, has 3 retreat, and in testing the idea might prove to be terrible. I just thought I would throw this out there. :)
Back to work…
