Pokémon Card Tips: Battle Roads Fall 2009 Deck Strategies and Results Part 1

Hey guys I realize that the Battle Roads reports submissions have ended and people are now getting ready for cities and the release of Platinum: Arceus. Here is a video I made on Sunday night that explains the decks that were used during Battle Roads. I also give my input on what decks I thought were the best for Battle Roads and their strategies. This is a two segment video and the other video is going up on SixPrizes.com tomorrow.

Good vid. with gengar lv.x coming out do you think that it should be played, or should gengar stay the same. The lv.x can survive flygon easier now and will give you an edge against sp with it’s poke power. Its attack is a little to costly for me and by lowering the gengars to 3 that’s one less fainting spell that your opponent has to worry about. so what do you guys think, is gengar lv.x good enough to throw in.

“The lv.x can survive flygon easier now.” I fail to see how this is possible, since any Flygon player will most likely be playing Flygon Lv.X; don’t forget “Extreme Attack”. The answer is no, Gengar Lv.X will not make a big impact, for the same reason that Arceus Lv.X will fail; Flygon! Even if Gengar trys to make it to the top, it will be smashed instantly by a Flygon Lv.X. No real player is afraid of a fainting spell, because the only eay to have glory is to have guts…

haha you had some decent info, but it kind of put me to sleep.

  7. As a player who’s coming back in from a hiatus over a few months, this is exactly what I need to see. A++ in this context.

Great summary! Great advice for Citys! Thanks for the imput. As a League Leader this type of imput is great to share with both rookies and veterans. It opens up much debate and discussion!

Thanks again for the effort you have put into this analysis!

You should put the second part as a video response on youtube. Would make things slightly easier.
Nice video, thanks for taking the time.
Could you develop a bit more why Luxray/Garchomp is bad?

gengar lv.x is a gimmick added to a gimmick of a deck. Gengar won’t see much more play it takes loses to stuff don’t forget SW flygon and it’s sand pokebody. 130 from extreme attack 130 and the damage counter is enough for flygon to bypass the flip.

garchomp c doesn’t do well vs machamp and gengar. it’s a good tech though.

great video, I’m not really going to worry about any of the new cards since none of them are completely original

Note that Luxray could also OHKO Gyarados without a Crobat if it used Flash Bolt.
